Florida Panthers have acquired
Mike Modano,Nicklas Lidstrom,Rob Blake and Joni Pitkanen in four seperate trades. It remains to be seen how these moves
will work out.

Pending league approval, the Florida Panthers have acquired Brian Sutherby from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange
for a 2008 4th round selection. "Brian provides great depth for our team and we feel he can contribute at the NHL level" commented

Pending league approval, the Florida Panthers have acquired Darren McCarty from the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for
two prospects (Ilmari Sari and Rosario Ruggeri). McCarty, a 14 year NHL veteran and two time Stanley Cup Winner, is expected
to fill the leadership void created by the expected retirement of Mark Messier. When reached for comment GM Anders Larsson
said he had no comment but did say an announcement could be made in the next few days.
